R1Soft CDP Solution is a server software application that enables disk-based data protection and disaster recovery for servers and workstations running Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems. CDP Server protects disk volume data using replication and synchronization over the network storing point-in-time snapshots in disk-based storage.
This solution allows to schedule the creation of more then 100 snapshots per day.
CDP Server works by reading your hard disk volumes at the sector level, bypassing the file system for the ultimate in performance and recovery. This disk sector synchronization is performed while the server is online and provides no interruption to other I/O requests even on a busy server. By reading the disk at the lowest possible level, point-in-time recovery images contain your files and all the formatting, partition tables, and volume configuration needed for complete and instant disaster recovery.
Snapshots
Snapshots consists in a copy of the disk sectors changes. This way synchronization routine between the CDP server and CDP client is carried out swiftly, taking only minutes or less to complete this task, even in volumes large amounts of data.
Explore and restore files
Administrator level users are able to explore files belonging to a Microsoft NTFS partition or Linux file system through a web interface, allowing the direct selection of any file or directory to you need to restore to it's default path or to an alternative location or even to a different CDP server. The restore process can be encrypted using RSA keys or 128-bit blowfish.
Bare-Metal Restore and Disaster Recovery
Each recovery point stored in the CDP server is a complete disk volume image at a point-in-time and allows the user to completely restore his system in a easy, fast way. In the event of a data disaster the CDP client (Windows or Linux) user will have the option to boot into disaster recovery mode, connecting to the CDP server and recover the entire system from a recovery point..
